RE: What to do about SBD? We must defend its high price!

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

I am a minnow and I am not cashign out. I don't think many minnows will do, because this platform is all about building your influence.
I have been converting all my SBD into Steem and then into Steem power and I lost a lot of money. Not only for the conversion, but because I did that convertion through the "convert to steem" button, instead of doing it through the market button.

  1. Why nobody erase the convert to steem button, since it is complete bullshits and it is just useful to make people lose their earnings?
  2. I am not cashing out, but I am incredibly upset that in this platform things are made so difficult sometimes, like this stupid convert to steem button. I have been hearing I should power up, from the very beginning and now that I am doing it, I realize it is complete bullshit through that convert to steem button.
  3. Did I already mention the bloody convert to steem button? Ah yeah, I did. I don't know what is the best solution right now, but I would let the market adjust itself. Witnesses and whales can on their sides make the platform more user-friendly, because it is not possible that when I have to convince other people to get on the steem-boat I am not even able to explain where the value come from and the methods we get paid and the 3 cryptocurrency. It is a nightmare, too difficoult for newbies.

To answer this:

  1. It serves a purpose when sbd are worth under $1 and is the pegging feature we are all talking about. steemit.com should put more warnings to it that that is not the internal market.
  2. Steem is complex. That is not something that can be hidden. And things change fast, so a feature intended for the last months is not as usefull in the last few weeks.
  3. Complain to steemit.com, they have to put more info on that button :I
  4. Sorry :I

The convert feature makes sense. Like a fire extinguisher makes sense. Just steemit.com advertising it in the wrong moment: 'It is freezing? Use the fire extinguisher!'
