The active users may only be a few thousands, but Steemit seems to get a lot more visitors according to http://steemit.com.hypestat.com/ and it's rising. The site does well on Google. If we can convert some of those to registered users then it will help. The price is likely to stay low as long as people are dumping Steem to make a quick buck. My hope is that a trading economy will spring up making Steem the new Paypal. That should create demand and help the price, but I'm no economist.
People just don't get it yet.. With the way this platform is set up, we should be voting for official government leaders by 2020 if things work out the way they're planned.
That would be horrible with the what steemit isset up to give the people with more steem/steem power mose voting poswer. I have come across some really ignorant and abusive whales during my time here. to think they would be making voes that matter that much is worrysome. we are talking about people that throw a tantrum and cant handle words that are offencive when everything is offencive to them, they are flag happy and half the reason I think steemit will die. :/ I hope not though.
Steemit only has about 11,000 active users. 89k quit or went inactive, at least, soon after when they realized they won't get rich with one crap post.
I don't know a lot about trading cryptocurrency but its not looking good for steemit atm. I am hoping things turn around once all the kinks are worked out.
Either way, with everything recorded into the blockchain then the inherent value will continue to go up. This means steemit will gain more value overa longer period of time thus making it the "IT" in crypto-currencies of social networking.. Yes, others will come along and try to compete but as long as I have been in crypto, I have never seen anything remotely similar to what steemit has...besides Bitshares aka graphene toolkit.

I hope things get better
Glad I'm here for the social aspect and not for the mad moneys $$.
I'm here for both.

you can change the name out for anyone.
xD
Mine is similar but I think there are a couple key signals that may not be shown in this graph
** I put my house for rent on the steemit blockchain.
100k new accounts not users. im guessing if we are lucky at most we have 5k actual users. people are leaving and fast.
:/
In theory I have three Facebook accounts. In practice I last used FB to share a Steemit post a month ago...
How many active users does FB have?
I'm not one of them.
Fuck facebook in the face. xD
lol

malicious whale flaggers would just flag the candidate they didn't like.

I guess we can only hope your right.
