RE: Steem Basics: Resource Credit System for Beginners

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

it goes more like this :

  1. steemit advertises itself as 'alternative to broken system'/censorship free, 'join us you can make some money here too'
  2. register and also purchase some steem in order to interact with the blockchain
  3. no clear rules are set on what can and cannot be posted on steemit but we do have a group of whales that police our platform using their own judgment
  4. there is also something called 'steem rewards pool' = the less masses earn - the more whales / 'cleaners' can keep for themselves

'cleaning' operation has nothing to do with spam , its all about who gets to keep the steem
abused users can report this crime syndicate here https://www.fbi.gov/tips

Oh, you're serious.

Ok, so you believe the FBI would agree that an injury occurred because a) steemit represented censorship resistance and b) steemit allowed cleaners to censor content.

Not only that, but it steemit represented that buying tokens are required to become even more censorship resistant while at the same time, failed to post rules on how to avoid censorship.

Here's where that fails to meet the criteria of injury: your definition of censorship.

Good, I'm glad we can take censorship off the table. Primarily because censorship is suppression or prohibition of ideas by state actors and not connected to private incentive systems like rewards pools.

Now that we're not talking about censorship, what is the remaining injury that the FBI would investigate?

The FBI doesn't investigate vague frustrations you may or may not have with the internet. You have to show concrete injury. Even then, if you stubbed your toe because of the internet, they won't investigate. What is your injury?

I'm serious. If you advise people to call law enforcement without clearly defining what the injury might be, you are just telling people to waste their time, and they really don't like their time being wasted. They could even turn that around on you. They have a name for the crime of wasting law enforcement's time: Harassment and Theft of Service

I already have an open shut case for libel.

Whether or not I know what you're talking about is not the point. You need to clearly and plainly explain it if you expect help from law enforcement. I am certain you cannot do this because there is no injury.

All we have are voluntary interactions on a blockchain that make you sad. Which is not a crime, no matter how much your feelings are hurt.
