The #TenKMinnows project is achieving some success. We have helped to boost several people to minnow status (500 SP) already. I am not sure if we will actually manage 250 this month, but that is no reason to give up. Unfortunately a lot of people are powering down. We should do what we can to persuade them to stick around.
The Steem price has dropped a little, but is still much better than it has been recently. By increasing the value of the Steem platform with our activity and powering up to reduce the amount that can be traded we may help boost it.
Activity on the Steemit site is still falling. The DDOS attack yesterday will not have helped, but most of us just switched to other dapps.
Here are some 'redfish' who could use your support on their way to minnowhood:
- @adeyemidrey is still a long way off, but he's trying. We have to appreciate how hard it is to get traction. Not everyone can afford to buy much Steem. He's done a good post about this.
- @alokkumar121 is doing the right things by participating in @CleanPlanet and the push-ups challenge set up by @nathanmars. Small accounts should take advantage of good schemes that can earn them extra Steem from votes and prizes.
- @psos is posting daily. This is important as more posts can mean more votes, as long as you can maintain quality.
- @nelinoeva is doing posts for photography challenges. That's another possible earner.
- Other people we are supporting include @mistakili, @redheadpei, @src3, @cwow2, @bucipuci, @dronegraphica.
I would ask these people to not vote for my posts. Give your votes to each other.
I will mention a couple of artists who are small minnows already, but deserve more support:
- @sanderjansenart produces to very strange, but compelling art. Check them out.
- @northwestnomad has a long-running comic strip that will keep you occupied for a while. You can vote up the latest few episodes.
I will also encourage you to use your witness votes. These are how you can influence the future of Steem. The following are doing great work for the community:
- @steemcommunity is part of #TenKMinnows and has been helping redfish and minnows for some time anyway.
- @steempress have a Wordpress plugin that can copy posts to Steem where they can earn. They are offering extra support to people we put forward who use this.
- @Actifit has a dapp to earn you extra votes and their own points just by posting your daily activity.

I've been working on doing some power ups and re configuring some of my delegations so that my vote can be more valuable to these types of accounts. I am going to visit a couple of the ones you mentioned and see if I can give some decent votes. Thanks for this great list and the info!

I am still just powering up. I have no plans in the future to power down.
What I wanna do is help people in the tenkminnow project after I am pushed over 500sp with suppling sbi shares to the minnows.
If there is a valid reason for people to power down this early is fine. If people just power down for the heck of it, I think the support should be less :)

It's a credit to the Steem community how much traction #TenKMinnows has gained, and of course to @steevc for putting so much work into it.

I know that feeling of futility at times a few months ago as I wasn't getting very far as I can only post Weekly rather than daily due to time, energy and access to my computer resources. I've developed some great friendships and for that sake I decide to double down and kept at it. Also block trading a few tranches of Dogecoin into Steem pushed me into the Minnow status. I am now invested and my Dust vote is more meaningful.
