There must be a fair number of dolphins by now who have built up their SP from post rewards. They can spread their votes across many posts. I have pondered how this is all going to scale to millions of users.
So what will the role of a whale be? Will they still be able to get some return?
Good questions, if the average user feels they have more influence they are more likely to want to increase that influence.
Many users investing small amounts may be more effective than hoping for relatively large investors.
this is true. but not with a constantly decreasing price though. at least the price should be stable for ordinary users to secure their invested influence.
It won't take much to lift the price... especially if more rewards are powered up to gain additional influence
@steevc
I personally don't think this site will continue...and will become an excuse for other things....obviously steel is not the same as bitcoin which has lasted a long time, mainly because it was not meant to last but give a fast buck to a few people. Also once porn became acceptable it was over, even if it was on a private site...
I hope you are wrong in this case. There are lots of groups out there trying to form new economies around cryptocurrencies, but Steem/Steemit really seems to have something. It's not perfect, but it's the best model I've seen so far. We have to get away from ad-supported sites and find ways to reward creators.
I will be monitoring things. For me the worst that can happen is that I wasted some time here, but I enjoy it anyway. Of course I could do without all the drama :)
@smooth down voted people with no whale votes...he is not honest with this test... everything has been going down for some time...
That did not happen and when discussed in another thread I cited specific data refuting this allegation. Please stop spreading misinformation.
Sounds like something got messed up there. We don't know how they are decided which posts should be downvoted to counter a 'whale' vote. A couple of mine were, but I still make something. All the data is out there, so someone can analyse it
Yep. Their return will come from auctioning off their voting vests.
