I noticed Steemit has dropped to number 2 on the @stateofthedapps chart. Previously that happened when Drugwars went above it, but they are not on there any more. I know little about MakerDAO, but they seem to be turning over about a $million per day. Steemit shows no volume at all, but I would think there are a lot of transactions going on. The chart takes various factors into account.
Steemit is still the top social blockchain dapp by far, but only has a few thousand active users. I wonder if they are taking much of a hit from #palnet. That is not on there at all. Since of the Steem dapps show zero activity when I'm sure they have some, e.g. @dcontest.
Having Steem dapps dominating such charts should bring it a little more attention, but it is still not reaching the masses. How can that happen and is it ready for them?

Easy, there is still no professional marketing for steem and the onboarding process isn't optimized at all.
It's definitely not ready for mass adoption.
Have a great day
Tom

I would agree. There are various ways to sign up, but it's still below the radar. After 3 years I'd expect better.
Much as Jerry Banfield was a dope, at least he was advertising for steemit relentlessly
He and dollarvigilate probably brought a lot of people in. Unfortunately Jerry is quite happy to keep selling votes to junk posts. I see he still posts, but I never followed him.
Yeah he brought a lot of people in, but he's a grifter at heart, even if he doesn't realize it
Fully agree
I would have though SteemMonsters would be farther up now with the DEC incentive. Guess many have not caught on to it yet.
I'm surprisef Nextcolony is so high when I don't see anyone talking about it apart from @revisesociology
It could be because if I attack a farm then it still shows up as an action on their account. Thus it records the majority of users who have effectively given up as active.
Im not sure if that's how the stats work but it would explain the high position!

I do wonder if you can really compare such different dapps. Plus some have loads of bots.
Good observations and even better questions. Also I have observed that it is important that Steem Dapp Developers make sure that their entries are correct. Just contacted one of the Developers concerning broken links on their description page.
BAT will take the 1st spot within a week.

arguably BAT isn't really a blockchain project. The token is issued via a 3rd party KYC centralized exchange. No idea why this is on the list
Any particular reason it should? It is showing an upward trend, but seems to have a similar weekly cycle to Steemit. It's hard to judge how close they are.
I've been using the Brave browser recently, but don't think I'm earning much.
Brave might get a boost from Google deciding not to support adblocking technology anymore in Chrome. Using a different browser is a pretty big step for me, I'm not sure whether I'm moving to Brave, Dissenter or Firefox.
Brave is based on Chromium, so Chrome extensions work with it. I think you just cannot log into Google, so you lose that sync functionality. I guess it's a privacy compromise.
Would you recommend the brave browser?
I find it pretty much the same as Chrome. It may be a little quicker as it is blocking the ads. I am just using Chrome to access Google services for now. I just don't seem to be earning much in the way of BAT from using Brave, but maybe I don't visit the right sites. It does pop up links to things it wants me to visit. I heard about it ages ago, but need to read up on how to get the most from it.
BTW Have you looked at using #palnet on your posts? It earns you some PAL tokens as well as Steem.
I'm not sure I know what palnet is? But maybe you or Katharsisdrill told me about it once...
There are a couple of possible reasons.
They are raising a LOT of awareness and onboarding users like crazy. There's a current Coinbase airdrop (well, you have to watch a video and do an easy quiz). They have free money for grabs.
They're close to critical mass when it becomes a thing. It works on everything as long as you're using the browser. When Steemit.com and others also become verified, we'd be able to use BAT on Steem.
There is already a Steem associated DApp that is a BAT affilitate! The Steem Poker League @spl (Lucksacks). They been around for a number of years on STEEM, one of the first gaming DApps. I use Brave all the time now and earn BAT coin which I use to help support our Poker League.
I like the DApp because it is free to join and free to play and I have won quite a bit of SBD!
Wow. Funny I've never heard of that Poker League dapp. I don't play poker so that's probably why, but even then I should have at least come across it. I wonder what else I don't know :)
If you want more information about it you can DM me on Discord
@sargento#0001. I don't want to spam @steevc's blog.Why do you think that?
You can earn BAT by just doing what you do normally on the Internet. Plus, they protect you from companies that track you. It's a win-win and people are realising it.
You right about that! One of the first alt-coins I invested close to over two years ago. I would say keep an eye of Golem too!
No idea what Golem is haha. BAT I think will go to top 5 once it really gets going. It will displace EOS and Ripple.
I believe many people are still living in ignorance of the potential of steemit. Because actually steemit should be more exposed
Exciting stuff.
STEEM is also close to being out of the top 100 in Coinmarketcap. :)
How low can it go? These are exciting times, for sure.
It's sad to see it in the 70s even as the price goes up. Seems lots of other coins have done better, but it's Steem I'm earning every day.
