I think that there are some very interesting conversations to be a part of and often enough, not of the garden variety to be found in most places. Who knows if the words will actually turn into more but at east it feels like they could.
Financially, I consider it a tremendous upside that my $14k investment might also turn into much more money (though there is also the risk it will go to zero). But I don't have to be on here for that.
Not necessarily because if everyone did that it would guarantee it won't turn into much more. There is a point somewhere where of there is too much passivity, nothing of value gets created. How much long-term value is there in vote-selling if that is all there is?
True, but I've never been one to make decisions based on, "if everyone did that." I know that in practice not everyone does anything, so I just decide for what I will do. Right now I could sell 100% of my votes, but I don't because I want the VP for participating instead. I feel sorry for people who need money so badly (in the short run) that they can't value anything else. They are missing so much that's right there at their fingertips.
I was saying somewhere the other day that if we think about ourselves and the community and neglect neither, the place would be healthier. There is a space for passive income and plenty of room for activity. If people took a hybrid approach it would work well.
I do too. I have been this person and despite still struggling, there is no value in only chasing and running away from. Time to make a stand.
