RE: Update on Unexpected Voting Power Behavior

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

The thing is, just looking at the accounts with million+ SP, some accounts just suddenly lost 5 days worth of voting capabilities (like this one, @steemhunt, @fundition, @dtube), while others with similar activity & stake/delegations were totally unaffected (@hendrikdegrote)... That certainly does not reflect the statement here:

This issue affects everyone equally (aside from those accounts which have not voted in the past 5 days)

I believe that bug is actually in the API and so is not the same issue. The voting power field is wrong for big stakeholders because it's overflowing the calculation. In short, they haven't lost their voting power, it just looks like they have due to a non-consensus bug in an API.

What you say hints of retroactive correction of the overflow calculations?

But if I place a vote from this account, it occurs as though the VP is at the number shown on steemworld/steemd... so that VP did disappear.

Sadly this is not true. It dropped to the 15% levels.

Hello @andrarchy , with this new RC system, is a post weighted equally as comment? I ask because in the manna and Rc stat in Steemd, amount of RC needed for a post is omitted. Expecting a reply. Thanks.
