[DISCUSSION] What will happen to the price of Steem? Will BTC and ETH affect it?

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

I encourage everyone to leave their opinion/input.

Steem and SBD were listed on Poloniex about 4 hours ago. During this time I was transferring some of my SBD from Bittrex to Poloniex and watched the price of 1 SBD rocket up to .004 BTC (~$2.70 USD).

Since then it has come back down to around .002 BTC (~$1.30). Will the price of 1 SBD remain over $1 USD for long? I'm assuming as time goes on the price will stabilize and reach closer to a 1:1 ratio.

Also since most people are probably sleeping right now (4:00 AM EST), what will happen when people start waking up and seeing that Steem and SBD has been added to Poloniex? Not only did they add STEEM/BTC and SBD/BTC but

they also added STEEM/ETH

Being that BTC is back down to around $675 and ETH's upcoming hardfork is right around the corner, what do you think will happen to the price of Steem? I wish I could provide some technical analysis, but I'm just starting to get into charts. Leave your 2 cents and lets celebrate the added exposure.

Sort:

I see exponential migration from bitcoin to here, because here it's something really new, original, and has a bunch of potential.

I'm definitely picking up what you're putting down - stable bitcoin prices leaves little potential for gains and eth hardfork may be too much uncertainty for some to tolerate.

Steem's positive outlook and volatile activity allows for bitcoin traders to profit while serving as a safe haven of sorts for those wanting to get out of eth.

Celebrate the added exposure, indeed! Cheers!

We might see ETH money flow right into Steemit. The real question is will Steem pass Ethereum's market cap. :X

У steem есть перспективы роста, но составить конкуренцию bitcoin он не сможет.
