I always thought it was the whales fault. At least that's what I hear the most. May because they are to ignorant to know that everything runs on some type of code.

Everyone likes to blame the 100 odd whales for everything while 60,000+ others act just the same. Before hardfork 19, the whales got blamed for not distributing enough. HF19 empowered everyone to have the same stake relative to their Steem power and, people started voting their own comments instead of using it to reward content they liked. Human behaviour is predictable.
Yep then they will blame everyone else for what they themselves are doing.
We have some good people coming up along with some witness. That's a nice thing to see. Or its my vision/view that is improving.
