I don't know what the future will bring . this will evolve . apps are being built so I can only assume that Steem will generate other platforms . keep powering up is the safest bet . for now and the near future . it will also put one in a better position with communities and any other changes that come

I agree. As I said a moment ago to someone here, this will best be achieved with a combination effort of network and 'alternate' possibilities.
