What I like about Steem is that it humbles me. The fact that I don't know crap and have to struggle to learn. It gives me a drive that has to be overcome.

It makes me feel stupid enough, often enough it has the same effect. Forces thinking in new areas.
It's either that or go along to be one of the group. I have never been one to follow for the sake of getting along. It does put you as an outsider with its drawbacks. But it has worked for me over the years provided that you learn to master the trade
Anne Frank was a must study many years ago for me. The lessons to learn from that little girl aludes most adults. Her plight still goes on to this day.
This is the crazy thing...
The day after we visited the house, my wofe's suitcase was stolen and we lost all of her belongings and the souvenir books we had stamped. When we listed them in the stolen items with the police in Amsterdam, I said, well, we could have lost a lot more, we are lucky.
In the grand scheme of things yes you are. We do not look at things in that manner but through the bubble we have created around ourselves.
I have seen so much that I know for a fact that things good be so much worse of. I do not have much in comparison to some. But to others I am so wealthy beyond their comprehension.
Everything is relevant to something or someone else and can look good or bad depending on where you are observing it from.
