Proof of Brain - Money Creation Mechanism, A view less talked About..

The following is a post examining current structure of Steem's distribution mechanisms which when put together act as a "proof-of-brain." Some issues are talked about and some ideas and considerations are put forward. This post is made in the name of improvement and addresses potential concerns I have with the current ecosystem versus the ecosystem imagined in the Steem whitepaper and bluepapers. Taking a Deeper Look at Proof of Brain

Explore the secondary source provided above, It's an excellent primer for continued discussion here.

There's a bit of a conflict amongst participants within the steem ecosystem. It's kind of an elephant in the room.

  • We live in a world where most of the population of humans on the planet exist in a game of survival that for most is not regarded as a "fun" game.

The reality is - most people need money to survive...and to hopefully thrive...where the access to funds and resources is substantial to the point where interests can be researched and discovered and real passions and creative ingenuity can be born.

The issue I see here is multi pronged.

  • People need money.

  • People getting money.

This platform is set up under the guise..almost altruistic in rewarding undervalued content....rewarding good content.

  • There's almost this unreallistic expectation that people will be honest.

There's also some discrepancy in the nature of the design of the focus, "What is Good content". This is kind of a fun thing from the perspective of 'subjectivity'. It also creates the idea - "let the free market decide....a sort of content discovery democracy".

  • Making Money - mostly everybody is in tune with this.

There exists a variety of services for making money. Voting bots. Rentals of steem power delegation. This is cool from the perspective of call it "secondary markets" emerging from the initial, primary markets of content creation and curation.

This is an expansionary outflow within the Steem Ecosystem. This brings continued conflict of opinions...which is mostly fine....not everyone is every expected to be in agreement on subjective opinion/preferences.

Issue kind of lingers into organization and structuring "entitlement" as a reliable "earnings" and "income". There's varying opinions on this matter as some people feel it unjust for the rewards to be somewhat centralized around specific social influencers. Another issue is democracy of vote. There's many varying subjective opinions on how a person or bot should allocate their resources/votes. There's ideas of altruism in not voting for yourself. This is usually supported by popular accounts who are in positions of privilege where they are already receiving way more than there vote is worth. It's easy to speak altruistically when you're hooked up.

There's ideas about fairness and unfairness. There's opinions about spam and copy right. There's a lot of issues of matters of opinion.

It's almost comical the fact that we all have opinions that we are 'entitled' to. It's like everyone is a police officer of their own mind of thinking...and we enforce our thoughts onto others as like each is their own mind control officer and the idea is to try to influence your mind control effectively onto others so that you are successful in being funded effectively.

I've wondered if the solution to the best of everything... in regards to funding and good content... is a simple one.

  • banking like services to provide good incentives for 'savings'...growing account holdings and value.

  • by creating an initial way for people to be banked in a positive way. Think for a moment all the third world people on here vote begging. It's because they don't have good money situations/solutions. It thus makes sense in growing the utility...the value of steem as a world wide currency by supporting STEEM POWER as an optimum real world superior banking like solution that is powered by the strength of the Network.

The strength of the network is ultimately what determines...and creates the value of the network. By having sound supporting services structured accordingly...this insures the actual development and expansion of the initial point....that being the usefulness of the Steem Blockchain as a global world wide currency network.

  • Ironically - what will result is that people are sharing what they want to share - creating what they want to create. This happens because the options...solutions are being created to take care of setting up financing...funding plans in addition to and in compliment of the lotto free market game of content creation and curation....getting "random" upvotes.

It does make a lot of sense that communities of people form together their own personalized networks of support. Where you are making a commitment to support the person behind the account unconditionally. It's not a matter of subjective opinion ...but a matter of principle. I've wondered about this...and have thought about how many people can a person practically walk with in supporting with votes that can be relied upon. My thinking is that the numbers vary based upon the amount of steem power one has. It's a topic I will be exploring more as I do have interests in networking efficiency, mutual benefit exchange, and wealth creation.

Please do share your thoughts and considerations in the comment section below. All criticisms welcomed and encouraged!

  • I am a fan of Steem Voter and I think there's mutual benefit in creating amicable relationships. I think there is a lot of potential in moving, growing, developing, maturing in all the best of ways as a group. I see great value in creating a reliable foundation of strong support. It's a real no brainer. No man is an island.

I think your perspective on this is very well put together. I agree in principle with almost everything you are saying. In my mind though I don't care about the quality of the content because I see the future apps built on the steem blockchain as simple share tools where people share whatever they want. What that content is will only matter to the users real social network just like on facebook.

I also think that this ecosystem is developing like any other free market economy . All of them hit bumps in the road as they develop and that is fine with me.

I think ultimately that the "haves" will all come to a point individually where they see the need to share the wealth in some form to keep the ball rolling.

I for one like how you approach Steemit. I found you because you voted on my posts. I then followed you and began to read your posts and learn all about steemit. You could have shared pics of flowers and I would have consumed those but instead you chose to share good content and I support every post. Others will do the same because you interact with your followers. Why would I follow someone who pays no attention to me? When more people take your approach the ecosystem will change for the positive and thrive.

the problem is that money makes money here too

is that a problem?

Really great post Thanks for important post

well your thoughts are on points you said it way better :)

The content is very similar to what is done on facebook. Anything is rewarded In my almost I've been creating post that take me a long time and I do not get any votes. Then I find a phrase or a common photo that has a lot of reward. That demotivates a little.

I appreciate your thoughtful approach to this topic without pushing the drama aspect I have been seeing.
