The Steem Power will be used to upvote posts on dMania by the dMania bot. With the new Steem Power, dMania can upvote more posts and attract more users. It will help us a lot to grow faster.
I made a change to the dMania supporters system so that supporters can opt out from rewards. Steemit will opt out from receiving rewards as supporter. Everyone who wants to do the same can now select the option on the delegation dialog. Â
Bot Rules Update
I have updated the bot logic to make sure only the best posts selected by the community are upvoted. I don't do manual curation with the dMania account, because I think one person shouldn't select the best posts. There are too many posts anyway for manual curation by myself. I think the community should decide who gets upvoted by the bot.
The new changes prevent that users who spam and aren't active on dMania receive upvotes from the bot.
How to get an upvote from the bot?
The dMania bot selects a random post on the Trending page every time he reaches 100% voting power. At the moment the bot selects a post every hour. The bot will select only posts with above average upvotes and rewards. To get an upvote from the bot, create great posts and collect rewards and upvotes from the community.
 Requirements to get an upvote
- Don't spam. Maximum 20 posts in the last three days.
- Upvote other posts. Minimum 5 upvotes on other posts in the last three days.
- Collect above average rewards and upvotes. Posts with $0.01 rewards and one upvote won't receive an upvote from the bot.
- Every user receives maximum one upvote per day.
Support
dMania
dMania supporters receive 15% of the rewards on dMania. The dMania bot uses the collected Steem Power from supporters to upvote posts on dMania.
To become a dMania supporter, you have to delegate some Steem Power to dMania. The minimum is only 5 Steem Power. The more Steem Power you delegate, the higher your rewards. By delegating Steem Power, you are lending your Steem Power to dMania. The Steem Power still belongs to you.

That's really a good news, but please fix the dmania bot to support original quality content only.
A lot of users are now posting copied memes/gifs and reposts from various sources.
There should be a way to keep them in check or at least a way for other members to report the miscreants. This way the bot would be vigilant of these abuser.
Lastly, I would suggest to lower the voting worth and increase the number of votes, but not more than 1 vote per day for any given user.

Copying a meme is of course a lot easier than creating one. dMania is mainly a place for sharing content, because it is impossible to know if you are the original creator. For memes it doesn't matter. A meme is basically a joke in form of a picture. For a joke it doesn't matter who the creator is. If you hear a good joke, you share it with your friends and family. It's the same for memes. The most important thing is that they are shared.
I still believe that original content will achieve more upvotes and higher rewards. If people repost, users can still flag that post and it will quickly disappear.

It's not necessarily a repost for dMania, but it's definitely not original content. Nor has it been changed in anyway, other than a title and emoji.
Based on what you've said here in the comments, this is okay on dMania, but I'm wondering how the original content is going to win out when it's the dMania bot running up the payout amounts.
Here, the dMania bot has a 40% upvote for $92.24 which is almost 83% of the current total payout. After that, the next five out of six are vote bots which were paid for, and are not, from what I understand, curated by humans based on any other criteria.
I think I saw a dMania original MEME and right after a few minutes somebody copied it under the same tag... The second one didn't earn anything.
Yes, it is easier but the only thing a re-post will get is a big fat zero, because there are so many similar MEMEs out there, joke is a joke but if you see it a few times too much it loses teh taste like pretty much anything else.

Atm the bot only checks for upvotes and not the voting power.
Most people want more upvotes not higher upvotes :). When the Steem price rises/updates the votes will be over $100 again. Should happen in next couple of days.

Not really, the posts on Trending have received only a few dollar most of the time (Trending and Hot are switched on dMania). Memes don't receive high rewards in general. That's why there is the dMania bot who helps you out 😉

I guess i'll be posting memes again lol. There are quite a number of copied memes (e.g. from 9gag) on Dmania though.
Eventually OC content creators will also come to dmania. 9gag is a place to go view memes, so we kind a need memes in dmania also. Users won't care if they are also somewhere else in the internet. Just keep telling about dmania to people and we'll see it become the best place for OC content. Last I checked, 9gag doesn't pay anything for their contributors of content. Should be a easy sell.

So I posted my first meme on Dmania yesterday, my own meme and I figured out that I might not be able to make to the trending page. There were some big accounts who upvote their posts and as a result, their meme shows in the trending section. I saw some memes that were taken from Google and had huge pending payouts.

I think it would be more encouraging if the Dmania bot would offer smaller votes more often, i.e to more people. Other than that I feel the rules are pretty good, especially the one with the minimum number of upvotes on the platform.
I'll keep posting, maybe one day RNGesus will guide the bot to my memes

dmania is choosing randomly on the trending page. As far as I see, a user is giving multiple upvotes. Some users are constantly sharing on dmania they do not come upvote at all because of what it may be. @dmania
