We must ask the Holy Spirit to give us the desire and thirst to drink from God’s water of life. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues the rivers of living waters will begin to flow in us. However, there is more.
The Bible teaches that we should continually be filled with the Holy Spirit. However, we cannot walk in the Holy Spirit until we experience being gloriously filled that first time. To be baptized by the Holy Spirit is the initial filling by which we begin to experience the supernatural power and life of the Holy Spirit. But afterwards, we must seek to be continually filled.
This filling enables is to walk in the Spirit at all times- for the long run.
Now what benefit do we (or others) gain when we testify of how the Holy Spirit filled us many years ago if, today we are dry rods? This is the condition of many people who at one point received the infilling of the Holy Spirit but never learned to drink of him continually, so to be baptized by the spirit of God is the only first step.

Then we need the fire that will ignite us to carry out his plans on earth. After all this, we also need to live expose to his glory and fire in order to be continually filled. Otherwise, we will dry up, regardless of how great and powerful that first infilling was.
We should never stop seeking to be continually filled by the Holy Spirit.
If you have only a remote desire to seek God but want to exchange it for true passion, the solution is to pray for the Holy Spirit to descend upon you with his fire and to fill you with his passion! We will look more closely at his process in later posts
Thirst is a compulsive force that can make one forget his or her reputations and do crazy things.
Just as hunger and the need to survive drives people in doing indecent and dangerous things, even putting their lives at stake that kind of spiritual thirst should consume us and the result we will get from such thirst will be deep. We will be filled by the Holy Spirit not just in a short while but a life time

God bless you for this wonderful and honest post. Our candles of thirst is often reduce on the tracks of living which is not supposed to be so. We have to be thirsty for God's word and touch to live a balanced godly life
