In questions of faith we must never follow our feelings, but the Word of God.
When we look at ourselves and our possibilities and allow ourselves to be accused by the enemy, we certainly fall and can not prevail.
That is why we must understand what God has promised us because of our faith in Jesus Christ.
Let's start with Romans 5.1, where we read that we have peace with God because we are justified by grace through faith in Jesus.
This peace is objective and refers to our reconciliation with Him. To the restoration of our lives, for having been made His children, who will be transformed, disciplined and perfected by the Holy Spirit.
This has to do with the fulfillment of the promise made by God about the New Covenant that he would make based on the sending blood of Jesus. In the context of Jeremiah 31: 31-36, where we find one of the promises of the aforementioned covenant, we would like to highlight the final part of his verse 34 which says: "For I will forgive their wickedness and their sin I will remember."
See that God promises to forgive our iniquities, and this in such a profound way that it would amount to a total forgetfulness of our sins, to no longer accuse us in judgment.
All the sins that we commit before our conversion to Christ have been erased.
As for the present sins we also count on the total forgiveness of God so as not to be a reason for eternal condemnation, and it is also because of the promise that we can count on his mercy to repent, confess and leave them, power of the working grace of Jesus Christ.
This is what allows us to continue on the path of sanctification, despite occasional interruptions in spiritual communion in love with the Lord.
Through confession and repentance it can always be taken up again, because of the promise of mercy that God made in relation to all those who believe in his Son, Jesus Christ.
