The Power of God in our lives

The power of God is given by His grace; He can work on his weakness. The apostle Paul worked in the power of God's direction alone, and it is recorded that he did more to help form the early Church than any other Christian. And this was because he depended on God, not on himself. The Lord told him: "My grace is all you need; my power acts better in weakness. " And Paul added: "So now I am glad to boast of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can act through me." (2 Corinthians 12: 9-10)

If you have accepted the power of God and are ready to do His work, you may be wondering what to do. First, begin praying to God and consult with other believers on how to discover God's will before making any decision.

Let's see an example of listening to God's direction in 2 Samuel, chapter 7. The ancient king of Israel, David, wanted to build a temple to keep the Ark of the Covenant, and at the beginning, the prophet Nathan approved his project. However, that night the Lord instructed Nathan to arrest King David, since it was not God's will for the Temple to be built at that time. Later, the Lord allowed Solomon, the son of David, to build the Temple.

After 7 years of work, the temple was erected by King Solomon, and was used for years by the people as a place of worship and sacrifice to the Lord.

So, how will God empower you? The Bible tells us that "God has given us a spirit of power, love and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1: 7) The Lord fills His people with "power" and "with the Spirit of the Lord" (Micah 3: 8), whom Jesus promised to send to all those who have accepted Him.

Do you depend on the Spirit of God to be directed? If so, you can trust the Lord to empower you and guide you to do His work.
