If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
2 Chronicles 7:14
Praying and seeking the Lord's face is an act of humility. It shows our dependency on God. The Israelites whom the Lord showed His glory and mighty miracles, kept returning to their wicked ways and forgetting the goodness of the Lord. The Bible says the goodness of the Lord turns a man unto repentance ( Romans 2:4). Keeping in mind the good things God has done for us in times past will keep us steadfast in our walk and prevent us from backsliding as the Israelites did.
However, even if we do go off the path of righteousness, God is always willing to forgive and accept us back because of the sacrifice Jesus offered. Not only will He forgive us but He will heal our land; meaning, for every misfortune that our disobedience might have cost us, He will take it off and bless our very surroundings.

Always keep in mind the good things God has done for you in the past.
PRAYER
Give me a heart of humility, Lord.
