What is Power?What is Authority?....Power is the ability to control people or things while authority is the right to control people or things. Power is the ability, authority is the right. A mere civilian could have the power to detain a criminal but a police man has the right to do so.
Today I want to talk about the believer's authority, what right do we have as Christians when it comes to commanding things into being in every area of our lives. Jesus Christ in his time here on earth showed dominance over sickness, nature, forces of darkness, sin and death. So as believers and followers of Christ we should possess this authority in our daily lives.
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.....................................John 14v12
Jesus even says that we ought to better, the authority and power of God is not meant for a select few , it is for all believers of God, every last one of us, but what we see in today's world is that only a handful of Christians exercise this God given power and authority in our daily lives. If we are to go out to win souls and expand the kingdom of God then exercising this power and authority is necessary.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.................Mark 16 v 17
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you...............Luke 10v19
The power and authority flows by virtue of our connection with Jesus.........of course you don't expect anyone to just wake up and start healing sicknesses and casting out demons. Therefore it is important that as Christians we live a righteous life free from sin in order to access this power and authority from God........Stay Blessed.
