To separate is the act of taking yourself out from something, it can also mean bridging a gap between you and what you think can endanger your life. Brethren,there are things you need to be separated from for the work of God so that they won't be an hindrance to the work God has deposited in you. If you are not careful also with friends or relatives,they can discourage you from fulfilling God's work. If it is your business, you need to leave it for God because anyone involving himself in God's work,such can never lack. You feel like singing to praise God but your friends are telling you to sing for the pleasure of it,you need to be separated from such so that they won't ruin your life over the work of God.
Genesis 12:1-4,
"Now the LORD had said unto Abram,Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,and make thy name great;and thou shalt be a blessing
And I will bless them that bless thee,and curse him that curseth thee:and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed
So Abram departed, as the LORD hath spoken unto him;and Lot went with him:and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran"
In Genesis 12:1-4,God wanted to bless and He knows his family can turn his mind away from God,that was why God had to take him out from there. He told him to leave his land and go to where He will show him.

One thing is for God to speak and another is to heed to Him and act on it. Abraham left as he was instructed to but he took along with him Lot and that made God's promises to be delayed and thanks to him,He was able to send him away even without misunderstanding. Glory be to God. It was after Lot went that all the promises of God was manifested on him.
In most cases, God takes those around us by death for the work of God to be manifested in one's life but we think God is wicked but He is not,,all if for our own good. "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you,saith the LORD,thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end"(Jeremiah 29:11 ) God wants the very best for us that is why He make things happen in our inconvenience just to suit Himself and makes us happy. We also need to allow God separate us from people or things that can block God's blessings on us.
God cannot use us until we separate ourselves. He who mingle and is in love with the affairs of this world to the neglect of the things of God cannot be used by Him. Great message, I'm blessed, thank you @charliechan
We need to be seperated for the master's use,,,,without seperating ourselves from sin,,,He cannot make us His vessels
God acts by separating us from the things and situations that are not convenient for our salvation.
Excellent message @charliechan, sometimes we have to separate ourselves from everything that separates us from God's purpose for our lives, even if it seems to us
