Humans,both old and young always battle against how to let go a problem encountered not by their own mistakes but someone dear to them, false accusations levelled against them, betrayals, cheats etc. People are being dragged to hell not because they are smokers , fornicators, adulterers, prostitutes etc but because of the sin of UNFORGIVENESS in their hearts.
Unforgiveness has become one of the numerous sins committed by people without being noticed. It's dragging a lot of people to hell. The Bible which is the guide helping us to reach the standard of perfection established by God Almighty has stated ," if you don't forgive men their sins , God the Father will not also forgive you also" The Bible says in Ephesians 4:32 that :Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Why then do we keep on harbouring the grudges and allegations levelled against us by others in our hearts? They have become an obstacle preventing us from entering into the eternal abode(kingdom of heaven). Don't let the bitterness, pains,disappointments etc experienced keep you away from the eternal glory set ahead of you .
Remember, one thing is certain , look unto Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, he passed through all these allegations and still forgave those who did them, even on the cross he was asking God to forgive them. And this paved way for him to sit at the right hand side of the Father in the eternal glorious abode we're looking forward to seeing it one day.
God is entreating you and I to let sleeping dogs lie and reach forth for what is ahead of us (the glorious abode). Let forgiveness be paramount in your life as JESUS CHRIST did for us. Colossians 3:13 says that, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you

We were created in God's likeness, meaning we should try and emulate all his attributes. God is all forgiving, so why should not forgive others when they hurt us. A person who doesn't forgive has a darkened soul, and that person won't go to heaven. Thanks for your post @debbynep
