Text: II Chronicle 20: 5 -6

And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the
house of the LORD, before the new court,
And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest
not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not
power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

Isaiah 9: 6-7

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall
be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The
mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the
throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with
judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the
LORD of hosts will perform this.

Our study today is to focus on another great feature of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is His kingship. Lord Jesus is the reigning king of human life. The prophecy about His birth in Isaiah 9: 6 says” ...government shall be upon His shoulder of His government and peace, there will be no end”.

Kingship is a symbol of power, rule, dominion and authority. All these features are clearly evident in Jesus. At His resurrection, He said “all powers in heaven and earth has been given unto me...” (Matt 28: 18). God has put all things under Him and at the end, Christ will deliver the kingdom to God the Father. (I Cor. 15: 24-27).

Jesus Christ is indeed reigning as a King right now and His kingdom, His church is not physical but spiritual. It cut across all nation and race. Children of the kingdom are Christians all over the world; scattered in all countries and continent, yet remain one holy nation, peculiar people and a chosen generation before God.

It is amazing and interesting, the great diversity, united and existing in the body of Christ, which cannot be found in any earthly organisation of nation. Christ's kingdom is the only one that consists of every nationality, race, and colour. He exercises control in His church today in His words and every Christian is under His control and banner of protection. Our Lord and King, Jesus Christ; worship Him in Majesty.
