When we realize we bring nothing valuable into this relationship with God, and it is all about Him, we are on the road to becoming useful. The more we can decrease, the more useful we become.
The above is not always easy. I think I will also adopt your daily confession. In 1989 when I made a new commitment to the Lord He gave me this verse:
John 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.*
