STEEMCHURCH MUSICAL : LIFE OF PRAISE / Thanks-Busters

in #steemchurch6 years ago

There's a poignant story in Scripture about a group of lepers who were healed by Jesus. And as Luke 17 tells us, just a single of the men who was healed of their horrible, incurable disease came back to thank Jesus for doing what He did!

Presently, I don't think those other lepers weren't thankful. In fact, I'm certain they were overjoyed. In any case, they were in such a hurry they didn't pause long enough to say two basic words: Thank you.

During this season when we pause to express gratitude to God for all His blessings, we as Christians have more reason than anyone else on earth to be thankful.

** How many of us are really genuinely thankful individuals? How often do we stop sufficiently long all year long to recollect and thank Jesus for all He's done us?**

thanksgiving is far more than a special day on the calendar The Book of scriptures urges us to carry on with an existence of thanksgiving each day. When thanksgiving moves toward becoming "thanksliving" then your life really begins to take on an attractive favor. Being thankful to God for all of His blessings is genuinely a mark of a Christian. It is a standout amongst the most capable spiritual activities an offspring of God can do. However, it is a standout amongst the most troublesome for them because the fallen angel knows the energy of thanksgiving. The following are four biblical ways to express our thanksgiving to the Lord from Psalm 100

There are three main reasons why followers of Christ aren't thankful today ... three "thanks-busters" that each of us — in case we're not careful — can fall casualty to. Not exclusively will these three thanks-busters shield us from being thankful, they'll prevent us from really enjoying life and becoming all that Christ wants us to wind up as His children!

Thanks-buster #1: pride

Pride - or the attitude of pride - is one of the greatest cheats of thankfulness. Why? Because a prideful spirit says, " “I deserve what I’ve got,” and, “I deserve all the credit for what I did and for what I accomplished.”

It’s like the woodpecker who was hammering away at a telephone pole. At about the time he was making some headway, an lighting struck the post and split it directly down the center. At the point when the woodpecker came to his himself, he flew out and came back with ten of his woodpecker friends and said: "See! See what I did! See what I did!"

The Scripture says that pride comes before a fall ... and, I might add, a great deal of disappointment, too.

Thanks-buster #2: A Critical Spirit

Another hoodlum of thankfulness is a critical spirit.

You know, the individuals who have a critical spirit are frivolous. They're never satisfied. And they're all wrapped up in themselves. They're constantly finding fault ... constantly blaming ... constantly being negative. I question you know anyone like this!

Individuals like this protest because they don't have what they want, instead of being thankful for not getting what they merit. This kind of attitude pulverizes thanksgiving … and it could potentially wreck your life.

Thanks-buster #3: Carelessness

Having an attitude of carelessness means getting accustomed to your blessings ... getting used to what God has given you. Much like the offspring of Israel when they were out in the wild.

God satisfied the necessities of the nation of Israel as they went through the wildness by feeding them with manna, an incredibly light bread that appeared on the ground each day. It was a miracle each morning, and, obviously, they celebrated it from the start. In any case, as they went through in the wildness because of their own noncompliance, they eventually developed to hate that light bread! They got used to the blessing. They became accustomed to what God had given them. And that will decimate thanksgiving in our hearts without fail!

So what about you? Are you a thanks-buster?

Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to “give thanks in all circumstances.” Why does Paul tell us this? Because he knows that when we limit our gratitude ... when we don’t say thanks ... we build a very small fence around our lives

Instead of living and enjoying the full expanse of what God has given us, we fabricate a little cottage around ourselves — and our reality turns out to be small, narrow and childish.

So today, I want to encourage you to ask God to enable you to find any thanks-busters throughout your life. Because when you carry on with an existence of thanks, you'll realize that past your circumstances ... past what you're going through ... there is a sovereign God who adores you and has a superb plan for your life!

When thanksgiving moves toward becoming "thanksliving" then your life really begins to take on an attractive favor. Being thankful to God for all of His blessings is genuinely a mark of a Christian

Gratitude to God is an indication that we are thankful for what he has done. Inasmuch as giving thanks would spur earthly beings like us to do more,in like manner, gratitude to God moves God to do more for us.

Thanks for highlighting and letting as know that pride, cirtical spirit and carelessness are some of thank busters that shield us from thanking God or being grateful. God can do everything except praising, thanking and honouring Himself. The least He always expect from us is to remain grateful to Him for all His goodness towards us. Being thankful to good open doors for more blessings and favours to come upon our lives, this is the more reason we should never forget to remain thankful always. God bless you for this message, I have learnt something helpful and useful @iksilva

“God smiles when we praise and thank Him continually. Few things feel better than receiving heartfelt praise and appreciation from someone else. God loves it, too… An amazing thing happens when we offer praise and thanksgiving to God. When we give God enjoyment, our own hearts are filled with joy."

How many of us are really genuinely thankful individuals? How often do we stop sufficiently long all year long to recollect and thank Jesus for all He's done us?

Some times we do things that we don't even know we are doing, and it's very sad. Sometimes people help us and we forget about them and even forget to pay them of the good they have done for us. This life in general it takes the grace of God to live, so it's important we always be thankful to God and to the people God use to help us.

the individuals who have a critical spirit are frivolous. They're never satisfied. And they're all wrapped up in themselves. They're constantly finding fault ... constantly blaming ... constantly being negative. I question you know anyone like this!

This got my attention you really made a very big point there thise with critical spirit found every opportunity to lay blames instead of being greatful.

Very essential to praise the Lord because praise is the only only thing that God likes.
Praise be to God who made heaven and earth and to him that knows everything we need in life.
Those who wants Gods blessings must be humble and they must be ready to do what he desires by giving him praises
God has made you with a purpose and it is left for you to give him your life.
The almighty God has made everything according to His power and be has hiven us power to conquar all our enemies and make good use of our lives.
Its good to be with the spirit and work in the parts of the holy spirit
The fruit of the holy spirit has always be with us in we have be doing.
Making right decision is by doing what the lord wants from you and taking your life towards the part of holiness towards doing the right thing at the right time with the love of Christ leading you.
Changing the world and making right descion can be done in fuseing the things you listed with the word of God and making a clear descision of the different between the good and the bad.
With the little you have help those who don't have and God will always be happy with you.
Your life will always be filled with his joy and Hus mercies when your decisions are clear and your life is focused towards the right part of God.
Believe what the spirit tells you

Great post @iksilva
Being thankful to God for all of His blessings is genuinely a mark of a Christian.
Saying thank you encourage one to do more in return.

When thanksgiving advances toward getting to be "thanksliving" at that point your life truly starts to go up against an alluring support. Being appreciative to God for the greater part of His gifts is really a sign of a Christian

God is worthy of praise

We praise God because He is the Most High God who “stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth” (Is. 51:13). He is worthy and deserving of our praise! During Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, the disciples began praising God joyfully. When the Pharisees told Jesus to rebuke the disciples for such a display of praise, Jesus responded, “I tell you ... if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out” (Lk. 19:40).

Praise deepens intimacy with God

Praise not only draws us closer to God, but through our praise, He is drawn closer to us. He “inhabit[s] the praises” of His people (Ps. 22:3, KJV). When King Solomon dedicated the temple, the priests gathered together and lifted their voices.

As they prepared to offer sacrifices to the Lord, they began praising with abandon, singing and shouting, “He indeed is good for His loving kindness is everlasting” (2 Chron. 5:13)

With a greatful heart, God always have the delight. I concur with this colloqualism"when you are thankful, your thank will be full."

Indicating thankfulness to great deeds towards us is an incredible apparatus for building solid connections particularly when with God. Whatever we have accomplished, we need to applaud God since it's not our right, it's simply by effortlessness
