Do we see the signs of God?

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Good day to the entire community of steemchurch in this opportunity I want to share a reflection.

And when the Pharisees and the Sadducees came to tempt Him, they asked Him to show them a sign from heaven. But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, Serene; because the sky has flushes. And in the morning: Today tempest; because the sky is bleak sad. Hypocrites, who know how to make decisions based on the face of the sky; And in the signs of the times you can not ?. The evil and adulterous generation demands a signal; no sign will be given to it, but the sign of Jonah the prophet. And leaving them, he left.

Matthew 16: 2-4

Trees the sky

Surely we have met people who ask to see the miracles of God to believe or simply to make believe that their trust is in God, but most of these people do not seek the Lord's heart despite seeing the wonders that God does at all times. Jesus shows us through this word that many times we can see around us and see how difficult the situation can be. We let ourselves be carried away by the evil that our time can be and hide us so that the storm does not hit us, then we just run and we We forget that God is waiting for us to shelter us from the storm and we forget the blessings we receive from Him. Our eyes are on the storm and not on God.

miracles of God

When the test comes to us we are always waiting for the response of the Lord immediately before such a situation and we despair because our eyes are on the problem and not on who gives the solution to the problem and God may be giving us signals that the answer is on the way and in spite of that, we do not even notice that these signals happen in front of us.

And the word of the LORD came to Jonah the son of Amitai, saying, Get up, and go to Nineveh, a great city, and proclaim against it; for their wickedness is gone up before me. And Jonah rose up to flee from the presence of the LORD to Tarshish, and went down to Joppa; and he found a ship that went to Tarshish; And when he had paid for his passage, he entered it, and went with them to Tarshish, fleeing from before the LORD. But the LORD caused a great wind to rise up in the sea, and a great tempest was made in the sea, that the ship thought to be broken.

Jonas1: 1-4

That is why the teacher illustrates the prophet Jonah when he was fleeing from the mission that God had entrusted him to go to Nineveh so that this people would repent and instead of going he decided to disobey and flee from the presence of God and when he was at sea he came the storm and everyone around him cried out to their gods and the storm continued but as he was thrown out of the boat the whole storm subsided and the repentance of the crew, the people of Nineveh and Jonah came.

prophet Jonah

It is that God gives to our lives produces that the confidence in God diminishes and that the test continues for more time, but when seeing that in our forces we can not then we have to surrender to his magnificence and ask him to teach us and show what He is going doing, because in his great mercy he helps us and for his love will not leave us alone at any time.

I hope that this small reflection will be a great edification and blessing for your life.

Jonah was a prophet, but this book of Jonah is not a prophecy - there is no prophecy recorded in it. Instead, it is a personal account of an important event in the life of Jonah who, as a narrator, told us his dramatic personal experience which teaches us to obey God

The book of Jonah teaches that salvation is not by works, but by faith that leads to repentance. This short book is read by the Jews on the Great Day of Atonement, on the so-called Yom Kippur. The road that leads to God does not consist in works of human justice that we can perform, but by the blood of the substitutionary sacrifice provided by the Lord. The most significant statement of the book of Jonah is found in the second chapter, and in verse 9: Salvation comes from the Lord! He is the author of salvation; He chose the great building of our salvation. He is the architect.
