Obedience to the Servants of God

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Hello Good Morning to all the friends and brothers of steemit and steemchurch. On this occasion I will share a little about the miracle of Naaman and what relationship he has with our lives.

2nd Kings 5: 9-16

And Naaman came with his horses and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha. Then Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored to you, and you will be clean. And Naaman went away angry, saying, Behold, I said to myself, He shall go out afterward, and when he stands, he shall call on the name of the Lord his God, and lift up his hand and touch the place, and he shall recover the leprosy.
Are Abana and Farfar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? If I wash in them, will not I also be clean? And he turned and went mad.But his servants approached him and spoke to him, saying, "My father, if the prophet were to send you some great thing, would you not do it? How much more, telling yourself: Wash yourself, and you will be clean? He then descended, and dived seven times in the Jordan, according to the word of the man of God; and his flesh became like the flesh of a child, and he was clean.
And he returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and stood before him, and said, Behold now I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. I beg you to receive some present from your servant. But he said, As the LORD lives, in whose presence I am, I will not accept him. And he urged him to accept something, but he did not want to.

Let's remember a little about this story, Naaman was a general of the army of Syria, apart from that he was a soldier with great experience in battle, the bible tells that he was very brave, so the position of general of the army was in a few words well deserved.

But Naaman had a health problem and is that he had leprosy despite having a great career as a soldier his illness was incurable and cause to be excluded by the people around him, until one day his wife's servant told him about the prophet Elisha who was in Samaria and in that time the rumor of the miracles that the Lord had had through the prophet and recommended that he seek for him to be healed.

But something that strikes me a lot in Naaman is that upon arriving at the place where the prophet was he hoped that it was the same Elisha who received him and declared the word of healing on him, but being received by the messenger of the prophet He was disgruntled and left dissatisfied with that reception.

Many times we have a problem, be it health, economic, emotional or other that affects our lives and we look for the pastor, the prophet, or the person that God uses for Glory, then once the day of the encounter with the servant of God turns out that he sends a disciple so that from the word that God sends to those who need it, what can cause disagreement in the heart of that person, since many times it is expected that it is the pastor (a) who minister and feel that in truth God will do the work, because if the minister or servant does not do it in person they believe that the miracle will not happen.

In my thinking when an Apostle, Pastor or other minister sends a disciple to give that word from God, it is because this servant has been trained by the pastor for a large part of his life in the ways of the Lord, his testimony , walk in Christ, loyalty to God and his mentor and it turns out that God shows him the exact time and place where the pastor should give him the opportunity (to put it in some way) to be used by God.

I have seen this kind of discipleship in person and it turns out that when the disciple has a testimony of integrity, God uses it even more than he has used the mentor.

minister & disciple

Sometimes we fail to understand the ways in which God acts in our lives and we always get carried away by our thinking without stopping to think that God can use whomever He wants to give the miracle at the exact moment.

While we ask the Lord to show us and give us discernment we could know more each day about what He has prepared for each of us, instead of being spoiled because the pastor or apostle did not attend us when we wanted, without knowing What can be happening or happening at that moment with the minister of God? We only think about our need without having a little more understanding about things.

Beloved, I hope that this reflection will be a blessing for each one of us and that each day God will do his will in us.
