You've absolutely right and although we can't earn our salvation, because we're saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9) we shouldn't forget, our works are "fruits of salvation" (Ephesians 2:10).
Ephesians 2:10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Conclusion:We can't earn our salvation through works, but works with the right attitude shows we were saved before. 🙂
