Marriage is like a cube of sugar, it will always attracts ants except you keep it in a tight container. Just as ants are the enemies of sugar, marriage also has enemies which can destroy it if not checked on time.
These are:
Build your marriage on love, trust, Christ the solid rock and pray for a solid marriage. Foundation may be hidden but if its effect is usually visible.

The foundation upon which a marriage is built is very important. Some marriages may not stand the test of time if it was built on wrong foundations like deceit, status, money and other material things.
Many people get married for wrong reasons, such as, ‘I am getting old”, “I need to settle down before my younger sister get married.”
It’s also a wrong foundation to marry someone you hardly know or getting married without premarital counsel. The consequences of such moves are always filled with regrets.
2. IGNORANCE
The problem in many marriage today is traceable to ignorance of what marriage is. Majority of married couples got married without having adequate knowledge about men, wifehood in-laws, and finance in marriage, pregnancy, sex among others.
Ignorance of this pivotal area is the main reason many, marriages crumble today. There is no substitute for knowledge in marriage.
“Through wisdom is a house built; and by understanding it is established. And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.
For by wise counsel thou shall make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” Proverbs 24:3-6
3. LACK OF PREPARATION
Many take months and years to prepare for their wedding in other to give it a touch of class. To achieve this, they spend heavily on pre-wedding shoots, bridal showers, reception hall, assorted drinks, varieties of menu, classy decoration, customize 0shoes, belt, bag, shirt and suit and imported wedding gown, among other for a wedding that will last for few hours only.
“The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer.” Proverb 30:15
Many prepared for the wedding without creating time 0to prepare for marriage. The marriage which is a lifetime venture will never be prepared for and yet they expect success in it. Remember that you cannot do well in the area of life you are not trained for. No wonder many who claimed to be in love before the wedding without adequate preparation always ended up calling it quit in their marriage.
To succeed in marriage, preparation is a must. Prepare by creating time for premarital counselling and attending marriage seminars. Also, get a marriage mentor and read marriage and family related books.
