The Evolution of Christianity

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Christianity started in Palestine as a fellowship; it moved to Greece and became a philosophy; it moved to Italy and became an institution; it moved to Europe and became a culture; it came to America and became an enterprise.

Rev. Sam Pascoe

Yup, and around the world, due to American missionaries, Christianity is an enterprise, and quite often takes American money to keep going.

The original church was illegal and underground. Yet they survived for 300 years, nay, thrived for 300 years, without people getting paid for their ministry or owning any buildings.

Well I didn't know any of that.

There's a troll on steemit, who claims to be a Christian. The thing is he REALLY hates people of other religions. Is that normal, would you say? Or has he probably just got some huge chip on his shoulder?

It's not normal but we sure have our share of people who hate people of other religions. I think if one's religion doesn't cause them to have an increased capacity to love others they need to find another religion or just get out of it altogether.

Nice answer. Sounds wise. :)

Incidentally, I'm not referring to myself. Though I have posted about the young 'gentleman' earlier on my thread. One must stand up to bullies. Even if they claim to have god on their side.

Especially if they claim god is on their side.
