When God opened the eyes of JOHN THE Beloved to foreseethe events that would take place at the time of the final judgement,he narrated what he saw in
#Revelation 20:13-15:
AND I SAW THE DEAD,SAMLL AND GREAT,STAND BEFORE GOD;AND THE BOOKS WERE OPENED,WHICH IS THE NOOK OF LIFE:AND THE DWAD WERE JUDGED OUT OF THOSE TJINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOK,ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS.........AND WHOSOEVER WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE"
The message in the revelation is clear. GOd does not excuse sin in anyone,small or great.It is a wake-up call to parents to realise that everyone who has attained the age of accountability will stand before God at last. And the jugdement for sin is tne same for all.
Every child ,we are told,comes into this world with a clean mind,like a blank slate, waiting to receive whatever will be written on it. Child psychologists call it #TABULA RASA#
The wisest decision parents can make is to seize this golden but fleeting opportunity to write the word of God in their children's heart- to let them kmow what He likes and dislikes;to let them know what is good for them and what is not. When tjis task is jot properly done,Satan and the world will fill #The blank Slate# with their destructive ideas and the child's life could be marred forever.
The heart of children must be trained to love Godby giving them right values from their early life by taking the following ateps:
- Praying for children during pregnancy
Many testimonies have been received grom parents who didi this. Such children often grow to love God early in life.
2, Giving them scriptural pet names
Parents can give thir children pet names after celebrated bible characters. They also be fondly be called "pastor","evangelist", prayer warrior etc.
- Scripturesreading
We must read and explain the bible to them, especially bible stories
- Use of Poster
Picture ps of bible characters must be made for children to easily see them.
- Living an exemplary life
Parents lives must be epistle to children.Our children alway copy what what we do.
WHAT TO GIVE
Children need a lot of love and attention. Is sad that these days parents dont create time to be with their children . Yet tje children the children have a lot of questions to ask.Life is full of so many puzzles and no godly adult is available to discuss with,except tneir equally confused group. A church survey of over 3,700 churched youth revealed that kost parents aare not among the p4imary counselors they confide in or turnfor advice. Only 26 percent said they frequently sought advice from their fathers and 40 percent said they frequently sought adcpvice from their mothers.
It tje behoves on women to take the challenge to have time for their children.
Most mothers are close to their children, at least in the first 6years of a child's life. This is why i say mothers take charge and do not let SATAN WRITE ON THE TABULA RASSA OF THE MIND.
