Good day beautiful people of God. Hope you're having an amazing day. So yesterday I started a bible study review and the first verse of the bible was treated which is Genesis chapter one verse one where I talked about how great God is to have singlehandedly created the heaven and the earth. How amazing!
Moving on, I'll be talking about Genesis chapter one verse 2(Genesis 1:2) which says;
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
Wow! So after the heaven and earth was created, the earth was still without form and void. When we say something is without form, it means it has no shape or structure and when something is void, it means that it is empty, vacant or not producing any effect whatsoever. I can imagine how that can be frustrating. Even darkness was upon the face of the deep. Coupled with the fact that everywhere was scattered, the darkness therein was also very thick.
And the last part of the verse made us to understand that even the Spirit of God didn't have any specific place to stay, it was just moving everywhere on the face of the waters. Imagine, even the Spirit of God that created all these didn't have any specific place to position Himself. If you were the one in God's shoes, what would you have done? Some people will be so frustrated that they might even say what they created should be destroyed again. But no, that is why human beings can never be God.
In the next verse, we'll get to know what happened next. What did God do? How did the darkness go? Did the empty space get filled up? What kind of structure or shape did God give the earth? We'll find this out next time.
