Peter gave his boat to Jesus, for him to use as a platform to Minister God’s words to the crowd, he did not just give his boat, he stayed with Jesus throughout the period of his preaching. What lessons can we learn from the gifts of service and time offered by peter to the ministry of Jesus in the passage?
Today we shall take a look at some of the lessons we can learn from the life of peter, below are a few:
- Learn to understand that when we give our time to the kingdom needs, God values it so much that it gladdens His heart. As you go out in pursuit of your schedules, always give premium time to meeting the needs of the kingdom. Create time to reach a soul with the gospel, encourage a depressed heart, spare time to pray for a hurting soul.
- Don’t live your life only in pursuit for what benefits you alone. God delights in humans, He places priority in what give Joy to humanity, invest into it. Be determined to be a blessing to humanity.
- Peter allowed Jesus to use his boat; those who have not known Christ think good work is all that God requires from man, God desires beyond that. God desires our heart, our hearts are the most important gift we can give to God. Have you given your heart to Christ? Christ desires that you become the boat by which others can see Him, listen to him and be saved. You are the most important gift that God delights in, so give your heart and all your possessions to Him.
- When you give God your time and service, heavens smiles back at us with abundance of treasures that amazes our hearts. These treasures may not all alone be material goods, but most important, eternal resources or rewards in heaven. Every act of service rendered to kingdom advancement is making eternal deposit on our heavenly account, for we are not blessed physically but spiritually.
- Peter saw the depth of miracle, he broke down in fear, but Jesus directed this mind to a bigger reward in the business of soul winning. Soul winning is a most important business that blesses our heart.
- Peter left all to follow Jesus. To leave all means to bring all your desires, fear, dreams and cares in pursuit of god desires. Peter left his business for kingdom business- He became a blessing to his generation and even to us.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, my heart is fixed on thee; I realize you have assigned me to be the bill board of advertising your love, salvation and grace. I am committed today and ever more to salvation of souls. I give my all to the winning of souls and I am blessed beyond measures. Allelulia!!
