"Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces"
Mathew 7:6
It is a tough scripture that tell a brutal truth. Even though it may not be so brutal given to the perception of the different culture on the animals used in this proverb.
In our days they say dogs are man's best friend, in the western culture dogs are very very much involved in their lives. Dog are used as pets, guards, guide to the visual impaired, dogs are used in war zone for different missions, border and airport securities use dogs to sniff drugs etc. And these cultures are being adapted in so many areas worldwide.
With such important role dogs play, many people of this generation would not think it is a nasty thing to use dogs in this proverb. To them dogs are best friends, royal and cute.
The same thing goes to pig's, some people have them as pets, so this proverb may not sound too nasty to them.
But to understand this you must take consideration of the people of that time.
During that time, these two animals were considered unclean according to the religious rituals. To such group of people this proverb depicted the nastiest picture that the speaker wanted to convey to his audience.
But we are not that audience, we are a different people with different culture living under a different covenant, so what principles do we learn here.
Be careful with the people you're dealing with.

-Be careful with whom do you share your dreams.
Sometimes people are comfort with you when you remain where you are, when you do not know what to do with your life, when you're wasting your strength, money and time to do stupid things, when you are like them or worse than them.
But the moment you want to make change that will propel you towards your dreams, they change also from being your friends to your foes. People are always not comfortable around people who know where they are going. So dreams and success do not always bring friends, sometimes they give you new close enemies.
Do not tell your dreams to dogs and swine. They will tear you apart. They do not see a value in it, because they are not you. They will never understand it, your dreams is your business.
-Be careful with whom you tell your private struggles
Very body is struggling with something. Only a fool will deny this fact. But most of this struggles are private, very very much unknown to the outside world. And we would like them to remain private. For that matter be careful with whom do you share your struggles, because some people once you tell them they may use it against you and destroy you and you're reputation.

You may be looking for away to vent. Vent is good sometimes or you may be seeking for advice, seeking for advice is good sometimes. The issue is where do you go to vent or seek for advice, be careful you may go to the wrong person, who will lead your marriage to hell instead of help. Do not throw your marriage to dogs and swine.

Many people have been hurt, brought into trouble with their business partners. Money is so powerful you never know what can it do to your partner. Do not throw your business, your business idea, your hard work, your money for capital to a dog or a pig. To unworthy person.

-Be careful with whom do you get into marriage with.
You may marry a monster, a wicked wife or husband. A person who will break your heart and destroy your soul forever. A person who will scar your consciousness. So be careful, whom do you marry, because you have a destiny, because your soul is so precious, because life is beautiful and because you deserve the best. Do not give your soul and your life to a dog to a pig. To unworthy undeserving person.
A person who will not see your true value and appreciate it, a person who will make you unclean too, an evil too like him or her, a person who will tear your life apart.
In conclusion;
The list may go on and on, but what I'm trying to tell you is this, there swine and dogs out there be careful you do not give them, the best part of you. Because you are so precious.
It is not easy to spot them, but I van give you few tips as a starting point in spot them. Be a good observer, give them time before you commit anything to them, listen to what they say, do not ignore the red lights on the way, do not belittle their negativity, watch how they handle issues. Do not think if they were negative to some else they will not be negative to you one day. They will treat you and deal with you the same way you see and hear how they have treated other people in their lives. A dog is a dog it is in it's nature to be a dog and the same goes for a pig.
