I know you would be trying to figure out what I meant by devil being a realist. Now this is what I mean. He pressures us to be perfect and tries to accuse us on every mistake we made as if we as Christians should never make mistake, he pressures us to be perfect to live without making mistakes or breaking religious rules. Everyone makes mistakes and when we do, satan tries to condemn us by our guilt because we have not followed the rules and regulations.
The rules and regulations am talking about are the ones some religious groups impose. Which include praying for some amount of times, doing good works, reading a certain amount of the Bible each day, observing religious holidays and so on.
When Jesus stated in Matthew 11:28, He said
Come unto me all ye that labour and heavy laden
He was referring to people who are struggling while trying to live under the law, but who were always failing. Their is nothing wrong with any of the rituals I have listed, they are in fact good Christian disciplines.
But if we view them as something we have to do to gain God's approval, rather than something we want to do because we love Him, they minister death instead of life. They become a burden rather than joy. The word teaches us that the law kills, but the spirit makes alive (2 Corinthians 3:6).
Jesus had much to say about religion, and none of it was good. Why? Because religion in His days was and often still is man's idea of what God expects. Religion is man trying to reach God has reached down to man through Jesus Christ. By placing our faith in Jesus Christ, we receive the benefits from the work He has done for us. His work, not our own work of religion, not following rules and regulations man prescribe, justifies us and makes us right with God, as these confirm:
For no person will be justified in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the law (Romans 3:20).
All are justified and made upright and in the right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:24)
I THINK BY NOW I HAVE MADE YOU REALISE THAT NO MAN IS PERFEVT AND EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES AT ONE POINT OR ANOTHER AND CAN STILL MAKE MISTAKES, SO DONT ALLOW THE DEVIL MAKE YOU FEEL YOU ARE THE WORST PERSON ON EARTH BECAUSE OF YOUR PAST. JUST REPENT WITH A GENUINE MIND AND HEART AND ALL WILL BE WELL. THANK YOU.
