To enjoy this inner balm that allows us to lower revolutions is not necessary to make a retreat of a week or form part of a Zen Community.

In our daily lives we have many opportunities to summon the "noble silence". Let's look at some of Them.

1. Create small oasis of silence

To not exhaust our attention, which is fatigued by jumping stimulus in stimulus, it is important to find spaces of serenity, albeit brief.

The first can be at breakfast time, which we can enjoy without even immersed in the noise of the WORLD. Instead of connecting to the devices, take the time to plan the day calmly.

Throughout the day, you can enter short pauses – even five minutes – to squint your eyes and connect with your inner silence.

2. Practice Total Listening

Silencing words and mind is especially valuable when someone is talking.

Even if you do not interrupt your interlocutor, most people mentally make judgments or prepare even what they will say when the other person finishes what they are saying. so, they're not Listening.

A good exercise to practice silence is to be present one hundred percent in what the other says, without introducing any kind of idea, valuation or Reaction.

of course, watching the phone during a conversation is also not listening.

3. Find moments of mindfulness

You don't need a classroom or a teacher for this ancestral practice. Just sit in a chair, with your back straight, turn your eyes and devote a few minutes to recover the inner silence.

To do this, it is useful to place the bulb only in the air that enters and exits the nostrils while breathing slowly.

The mindfulness can also live in motion, for example, when walking to Work. It's about being aware of every step we take, of our weight on earth, without paying attention to anything else.

4. Discover Urban Retreats

Amidst the hustle and bustle of day to day there are moments and places that invite you to meet YOURSELF.

Entering a church during the midday break is a good decompression exercise. Even if we are not believers, sitting in the gloom for a while to enjoy the silence of the Temple is a good cure for the stridency and acceleration of modern life.

Other places suitable for an urban retreat would be a park to make a recess, or even a quiet place with a bench to rest the body and mind.

5. Establish a digital diet

Set a schedule – at least two hours before bedtime – in which all devices connected to the networks must be silenced until the next day.

That will allow you to dine without watching your mobile, as well as reading or chatting with your family, whether you live with it, or reflecting on what the day has given YOU.

This "analogue" space can be used to wash the dishes quietly or to do any simple task that will relax you, without having to attend to the demands of the outside WORLD.

Sometimes when I'm worried or I have a lot of problems, which have turned into chaos, it's difficult. what I do is to do something that occupies my mind and this in silence. and I begin to pray very quietly.

When you think you are in distress, the only thing you can do is to be in silent and pray to God. Thanks
