Are Angels Real? What the Bible says.

Truth be said, I have never seen an angel in my entire life. But then does that mean angels do not exist? In fact many religions promote belief in super natural spirit creatures, some of whom are benevolent and others who act as personal guardians. Many believe not only that spirits exists, but that they affect them in a meaningful way.

Well as Christians, we should not be confused or puzzled about the existence of angels. Why? It is because God's word the Bible tells us about the truth about these spirit creatures. Today, the Bible will reveal the answers to these questions;

Are angels real?
Are there evil angels?
How are we affected by angels today?
So let's start up with the first question;

ARE ANGELS REAL?
Well the simple answer is ,Yes!. See what the Bible says at Matthew 18:10;

10 See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven always look upon the face of my Father who is in heaven.

Yes, the son of God, Jesus Christ himself, mentioned that there are angels in heaven. Jesus who was present when God in created all things knew without a doubt that there are angels, and he made this known to his listeners.

Also, the Bible at Psalm 103:20 says of angels;

20 Praise Jehovah, all you his angels, mighty in power,Who carry out his word, obeying his voice.

The scriptures clearly indicate that angels are very powerful, more powerful than humans. They also have superhuman intelligence and speed. This is seem from the way they travel vast distances from heaven to deliver God's message to his people.

Other scriptures like ; Revelation 5:11, Daniel 7:10, and Judges 6:11-23, all point to the fact that, yes, angels are real?

Now the next question is;

ARE THERE EVIL ANGELS?
Again the simple answer is Yes! Now examine what the Bible says at Jude 6;
6 And the angels who did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place, he has reserved with eternal bonds in dense darkness for the judgment of the great day.

Remember those angels that left heaven and came.to earth to have sexual intercourse with women on earth? Well they are the angels spoken about at Jude 6. These angels left their elevated positions as sons of God, and followed the rebellion of Satan. They came down to earth to have depraved, unnatural, unholy and immoral relations with women. God was not happy about this, so he did not grant them entry into heaven when the earth was covered by the great flood of Noah's day. These angels however, were confined to a debased condition of dense spiritual darkness known as Tartarus(2 Peter2:4).
No longer angels of light, these demons, placed themselves under the dark rule of Satan the Devil.

The Bible however at Revelation 20:1-10, gives us sure assurance that soon, these evil angels will be taken out of action, and completely destroyed forever.

Now knowing that angels are real and that there are evil angels, we are left with the last question in this article:

HOW ARE WE AFFECTED BY ANGELS TODAY?
The Bible shows that in order to accomplish God's will, angels have at time provided a measure of protection for faithful servants of God. For example at Daniel 6:22 the Bible says;

22 My God sent his angel and shut the mouth of the lions, and they have not harmed me, for I was found innocent before him; nor have I done any wrong to you, O king.

After Daniel spent the night in a den of ravenous lions,he explained that he had survived because God sent his angel and shut the mouth of the lions.

Also, at Acts 12:1-11, we read of how an angel appeared to Peter and led him out of prison.

So yes, angels helped God's servants in the past, and they are actively doing so today. In fact angels help in making sure the Gospel reach people worldwide. Modern day testimonies have proved so. They support those who are in the forefront of spreading the Bible's message. No wonder the Bible says at Luke 15:10, that when a sinner repents, " joy arises among the angels".

So of you have ever been in doubt about the truth about angels, well the Bible says Angels are real and they have a great effect on our lives today as they did in the lives of faithful servants of God in the past. May God's angels guide you.
