Chaos! That's all I see when I watch the news. I watch reports of war in various places, crime is on the rise, children malnourished in extremely poor countries, natural disasters devastating the lives and homes of many, and so many other chaotic events. Even on the streets, I see unemployed youths, and I see poverty stricken homes(may God help us all). In fact all I see, makes my ask myself the question; Is God in control of this world? If not, then who is?
God's word, the Bible provides the answers we seek. So let's see what the Bible has to say about this topic; Who is the ruler of the world?
Let's read 1 John 5:19;
19 We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
Here the Bible clearly tells us that even though we come from God, even though we were made in the image of God, even though we are Gods children, the Bible tells us that the whole world lies in the power of the wicked one, the Devil.
Also, think about Jesus words at John 12:31;
31 Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
Jesus said the ruler of this world will be cast out. If God is the ruler of this world, would Jesus have been correct to say that the Almighty would be cast out? No! God can not be cast out, so that means Jesus was referring to someone else. He was referring to the one who will be destroyed finally, and that is Satan the Devil.
That explains why there is so much chaos in the world, the ruler of the world, Satan the Devil is devastating the world, and causing so much suffering and hardships for humans. But would God allow such chaos to continue? Of course not! See what the Bible says God will do soon, at Hebrews 2:14;
14Therefore, since the “young children” are sharers of blood and flesh, he also similarly shared in the same things, so that through his death he might bring to nothing the one having the means to cause death, that is, the Devil.
Christ died so that he might bring the Devil and his works to nothing. The rulership of Satan over the earth is in the last phase. God will use his son Jesus to bring Satan to his end. The resulting rule under Christ Jesus will be filled with peace and joy. I personally look forward to that time, what about you?

With the bad things we see around the world today, I have to agree with you. If God was in control badness would not be this much, but he has allowed the wickedness for a certain - giving time to people to change from their evil ways. This is a controversial topic, I hope to see how other parishioners view this.

I personally look forward to the reign of christ, we are currently under the regime of satan, the ruler of the world, chaos and suffering everywhere.
The bible provides us with hope that Christ will come and dethrone the devil and assume his rightful place as king.

personally look forward to that time too, when kingdom of God will take over the earth, that's why we need to create a very strong relationship with God, even though we can't get all what deserve now, when the kingdom of God come we will have all what will need, not loosing here on earth and also in the kingdom God, kingdom of God should be our priority and we should work towards it .
I totally agree with you that the devil is the ruler of the world because all the evil going on in earth are of him. But these happenings shouldn't make us deviate from God. We are not from earth, we are just passing through it.
It is true that we are living in a wicked world but let us endure these days and understand rapture will take place and the wicked ones shall torment us no more.

I am not sure you really read this post. Jesus is king yes. He is the rightful king, yes. But for now satan is the ruler of this world. Read 1John 5:19. I pray you understand it. Or better still read the post before you comment. Thanks bro!
