Reconciliation is an initiated process to bring agreement and unity to parties of different ideas,opinions,cultures etc.
Therefore reconciliation is needful whenever there is misconception, quarrel or war. God sent his son Jesus Christ that he(Jesus) might reconcile the world unto Him. The lord was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, this shows that that was misconception or quarrel between men on one hand and God on the other.

Ephesians 2:16:
and that he (God) might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross,having slain the enmity thereby.
This enmity started from the time of Adam. And the initiator of reconciliation is God.
Genesis 2:15-17
And the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it, And the lord God commanded the man saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it,for the day thou eatest therefore thou shalt die.
From the scriptures above God made Adam, and placed him in the garden of Eden, he made you and I and placed us on earth, and most of the things he created were given to us, freedom and access to everything he made. God made you and I for a purpose, for all things he made was for his pleasure (Rev. 4:14). But God said of the tree of knowledge and of good and evil thou shalt not eat of it. Just one thing he asked of us and we denied him of it due to our selfish reason (greediness). So due to that controversy enmity arose between man and God.

The beginning of enmity was when there arose different perspectives about the same thing from God, Adam and Eve. God said the day you eat thereof you shall surely die. But Eve said it was good for food; God said it was foolish but Eve said it was a wisdom giver. The root of this different perspective assumed by Adam and Eve was greed;all was not enough expect that one was included. This is cause of the controversy between you and God; And God said to you that you should not steal, fornicate, tell lies and among other things, bit these things please us because we are greedy.
Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the lord and depart from evil.
It is important to understand the limit of your wisdom, the selfishness of your wisdom, the temporal nature of your wisdom and embrace God's wisdom for life. For His wisdom is pure. James said for the wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits without partiality.
Come to think of it, is your wisdom not manifested in selfishness by taking your neighbour's wife, property, by stealing with trick among others? Therefore it is expedient to embrace God's wisdom for life because He had been before the world began and He will remain when the world shall be no more, that is; He is the first and the Last.

God is seen as the ancient of days that never gets old. Before the world was created He has been existing as God. Perhaps you were there at the beginning of all things, and then you are qualified to know as God knows. God will be there as ever living king when the world shall come to an end, perhaps you are a special human being that will live forever but I have neither heard nor see any han being that had lived forever or will live forever. Don't be deceived, every man is of a numbered days, a day of death has been appointed and its a battle no man can overcome, no matter how rich you are, how powerful and how wise you may be.
Colossians 1:16
For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be throne or dominion or principalities or power: all things were created by Him and for Him.
He is the beginning and the end of all things. Nothing has a beginning without Him who is the beginning; the mountain, the firmament, the heavens as well as you among others. No existence without God, in the beginning, God made the heavens and the earth which we can all see around us including ourselves. Although men invent things, this is done out of God's given wisdom which was exemplified by Adam when he named all things brought to him to be named.

It is also important to note that the end of all things is in his hands.
The result of a higher being that is the living God demonstrates the point of confinement of your wisdom,for the mud can't be more prominent than the potter.
