Dear Steemians!
Today have many CSS preprocessors are used like: LESS, SASS, SCSS.... However, those can be a bit overwhelming and hard to implement in your workflow, when you’re starting with them. Have many tool will help you solve it but not easy to find a conform and friendly tool with you
In this post, I'll introduce an application i know and speak my opinions about this app!
The application I introduce is Koala. Koala is a CSS complier tool and a great tool to help beginner, but I think Koala still have weaknesses and I'll talk in this post!
First, I'll talk about strengths of app:
- It's free and open-source:
- Easy to use: all of things you need are pull and drop your folder after open app but you need create folder before
- Multi-language Support: Support for Less, Sass, CoffeeScript Compass Framework and Dust
- Error Notification: If encountered an error during compilation, koala will pop up the error message.
- Automatic CSS prefixing: you know: -webkit-, -moz- and others..
- Cross-platform: Koala can run in windows, linux and mac
- Friendly symbol: A cute koala face I feel nice when I see it, I think this is a plus point
And there are some Koala weaknesses follow my opinions
- Not auto live refresh: You must reload page to see change after save code. If you do it again and again many time with out tool, It's maybe fine but you are using an application, I don't think it's fine!
- Hard to use with large project: If you do a large project and want unify all .css file, it's maybe hard because I see koala application only compile a .css file you drag into tool
It's all of my opinions about Koala application. Although, Koala app has weakness but it's also a great app for beginner or for who like this app!
Whatever tool you’re choose it’s up to you. The important thing is that you want to save time and do that effectively. Have you used Koala app or any other similar apps? Leave a comment and let me know!

I'll try this app out.
