EDIT: I've just upgraded this report, and made a post about it here.
I've been thinking that it's a shame there's an easy way to see which posts are currently trending, but no equivalent for comments.
After developing something along these lines, I must say, I'm a bit disappointed with the variety and quality I've seen so far, but here is the latest offering anyway. At least it shines a light on a dark corner of the blockchain.

Wow, lots of abuse uncovered, Hall of shame.
yes you can expose the abusers
Yep, a lot of spamming selfvoters on that list!
Awesome work! Again! Could you make it even bigger and even nicer?
I'm not sure how it could be made nicer but I still feel like it miss some refinement.
Thanks! Yes, I know what you mean. I think I'll update it in the next week to be formatted more like when you view comments in an account profile. It's a bit ugly and hard to use at the moment.
That sounds great! It is very nice to use right now, but it sure could do with some design upgrades ;)
This is a very cool idea as it would horizontally expose the platform exponentially! I'd definitely be behind this idea myself.
Namaste :)
Yes. Alas, I feel my most significant contributions have been my comments, not my posts!
This is how I made the biggest amount of rewards myself. Meanwhile, I learned a LOT about what works and what doesn't... Great learning experience to build my own articles while being rewarded for it, how bad could this be?!? ;)
Namaste :)
Cool. So...what works and what doesn't?
Comments are actually rewarded. Many people don't use voting power to upvote comments though. If we can earn better curation rewards for upvoting would-be-popular comments, we can probably use more time reading the comments as well.
Very useful for flaggots like myself, thanks.
@demotruk while I appreciate your hard work towards the goal of keeping the site clean so to speak, you failed to read the post you flagged for what it was. A comical introduction, gateway towards further communication and opportunity to network with a new author. I have made changes to it in order to be in line with the OP's original post; nice to meet you..
wow disturbing to see how bad (most) of the comments are. Those are for sure not with the intention of real human interaction and making each other better people. I agree, decent comments is just the way to go. As I said somewhere also in a post about commenting. I think really comments are why you start reading somebodies page, not because their page randomly falls into your lap
I would love to see comments get more attention here on Steemit. I think it's just as important for comments to be read as it is the original posts. The interaction between people is what makes for good social media. After all, it is social media, isn't it? I post more comments than I do content because there are times I can't think of anything to write, so I search out material that is interesting to me, read it, and share my thoughts. I'm sure I'm not the only one who uses Steemit in this manner on occasion.
what about the most commented people ? I get more than 50 comments in this post Reduce Your Self Upvotes and Receive more Upvotes , I think it's also a good thing to talk about, I know that some people have 200 comments and more, but 50 it's also interesting to share. ☺
Yes - good idea.
Yeah-everyone's a critic and a cheerleader. The comments and community reaction make the world go round. If we were all posters no one would have time to read it all....I love the funny and insightful comments on Steemit.
Yeah, you're right. Comments can also add very valuable information to posts, especially when one or more of the commentators have a different perspective on the topic that is written about!
Good job! I've always wanted one of these, and I had hoped it would eventually be built in to the Steemit interface. However, your website looks great as well!
Hoo boy -- that's revealing!
Thanks, it's a very useful development in attempt to highlight the best comments. I think we need more of this initiatives to enhance who contribute to the growth of steemit rather than abuse of it.
This is an awesome idea !
I have the opinion that upvoting on comments is good. I may be wrong let me know. If someone takes the time to comment on my post I believe my vote on their comment makes them follow me more maybe. Community is good rewards must be too
It is awesome to see so many people appreciated in the comments I find there is much value in the comments section and enjoy when the conversation takes off and creates more value than the post that was just a spark to start the conversation. Thank you @steemreports for providing this tool. It is cool to see so many different languages and all the diverse range of comments.
I agree I sometimes feel that comments go unnoticed, actually I feel that the lack of appreciation towards comments is grievously lacking here. All to often I see comments that are more insightful and full of wisdom than the actual post itself; yet they go unappreciated and more often than not unrewarded. I think a reasonable feature request along those lines would be a "hot comments page" in general. This may garner exposure for users that do not have the requisite writing ability to post an excellent article, as of yet are an unknown author on STEEMIT, but by sheer happenstance or simple logic put forth a comment that is pure gold. I believe that ideas such as this would only serve to benefit the site in the long run and assist some participants in feeling more appreciated.
Wow, now that one just takes the cake! That was a bold move, maybe a not so smart move but bold.
Then throw me an upvote..
High quality spam! Persuasive writing, but it doesn't have anything to do with my post.
Thank you, nice to meet you; and I have edited to coincide with the original topic of conversation. Do swing over and have a look, I think you may take particular interest in the study that I am conducting in regards to the feasibility of Steemit as a wealth building platform. To that end features like the one you propose would only server to help others toward that goal.
