Editorial Services

in #steemgigs7 years ago (edited)

Steemit continues to burgeon, attracting users from all around the globe.

Many of these users have inspiring ideas.
But they often struggle to express their work, as non-native English speakers.

Towards the goal of overcoming this predicament, I would like to tender my services
as a poet, writer and professional in the fields of programming, design, editing and copywriting.

Samples of my poetry and creative writing are open to perusal through my Steemit blog and twitter feeds, respectively:

https://steemit.com/@crowkeep
https://twitter.com/crowkeep

Services provided:

Proofreading:

Proofreading consists of dealing with an article's cosmetic errors.
Spelling, minor inconsistencies and formatting.

Copy editing:

Copy editing consists of improving an article's flow, style and accuracy.
Ensuring stylistic and grammatical correctness.
It's a more comprehensive process than mere proofreading.

Content editing:

Content editing is a heavier form of copy editing.
This consists of rewrites as well as corrections. Also potential
content creation.

Business hours:

Estimated turnaround time, on any given business day, for work accepted is between 24 and 48 hours.
Perhaps less over weekends and holidays.

Rates:

Quoted minimum rates are applicable to individual article length of no greater than around 700 words (most articles come in around the average length of 570 words).

In the case of lengthier articles, fees can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

Proofreading: 4 SBD
Copy editing: 5 SBD
Content editing: 7 SBD (Depending upon estimated workload. Heavy reworking of any given article may demand an additional fee)

Remuneration:

All payments for work completed will be administered exclusively through Steemit's native escrow interface.
This ensures fairness and is for the protection of both client and editor and is non-negotiable.

There is an escrow GUI available here:
https://golosim.ru/escrow

Further information from the developer is available in the following post:
https://steemit.com/escrow/@xtar/open-source-standalone-gui-for-steem-escrow-transactions

As well as the one built into @good-karma's mobile eSteem client:

How It Works:

If you're interested in hiring me, first get in touch via direct message to @crowkeep through Steemit.chat.
Tell me a little about the nature of the work you want edited and to what extent, per the rates posted above.
Share with me a link to your document via one of the many numerous cloud services (Google Docs is preferable), so I can take a look at the work and make any necessary estimates, etc. I'll get back to you within 24 hours.

After having learned something about your project, should we decide to pursue a working relationship, I'll ask you to post payment to escrow, per one of the services above.

Once payment is confirmed, I can begin the work.
Once I've completed the work, I will post it to a shared Etherpad@MIT (http://etherpad.mit.edu/), where you can take a look and export the material in the markdown format, suitable for posting to Steemit.
Payment may then be released from escrow, as agreed upon.

Cheers.
