Hi guys,
Let's say I power down at, say, 100 SP. It will take ~2 years to power down, but my understanding is that I will still earn interest on the SP while powering down.
So at the end of 2 years, will I have powered down 100 SP or All of my SP, including the interest?
Thanks in advance for any help!
And to be clear, when you power down, all the rewards you earn after that moment are considered separate -- you would have to power down again and restart the clock to get those out of your account. You're from Boston? Boston rules. Happy to have you here.
I was wondering about that.
Yep. The mechanics of steem are very involved and also may change in the future. But that's how it is now. I feel like I learn something new everyday. Just 4 days ago I learned not to vote in the first 30 minutes if you want your 100% share of the curation rewards.
Yes... because the interest isnt real. Youre powering down a fixed amount of vests. However, your weekly payouts will be progressively larger, to reflect the increasing rate of conversion between vests and steem. IIUC< your last payment should be around 4 times as large as your first.

Your post was awesome! Thanks for the help!
i would like to know too
Yes, pretty much. But the system is still in it's infancy and there are lot of complications. Things could and will change.
power down is actually a feature to increase the activity of steemit member if they active on steemit they will not lose their SP
