If you want to learn programming and confused which IDE(Integrated Development Environment) to use, you can use jGrasp.

jGRASP is an IDE to create apps not only in JAVA language, but also other languages like C, C++, ADA, etc. If you're trying to learn JAVA for the first time, try using jGRASP instead of netbeans or eclipse, so you will understand the process step by step more properly.
