The population is increasing in a lot of levels, inventions like this can help the humanity to keep up with the growth.
I'm not an expert but I guess the Robocrop (what a cool name!) is worth the investment. Farmers can save a lot of money and do things faster, the only bad thing is that people may lose their jobs, specially people that are in the worst scenarios of poverty.
