Plastic is indeed a tricky material; it's both amazing because it's cheap to produce and that can lower the costs of many products significantly but, it's also horrible because it's hard to degrade and people throw it away all the time. A self-sustainable ocean cleaning solution sounds ideal for sure, let's hope they manage to make it happen.
