Jitsi Meet is an encrypted video call software that can be modified and hosted on private servers. Think of it as an alternate to Skype.
I like that it is open source but I also like the anonymity of not requiring an account to use the software and the privacy it offers. The ability to customize meeting URL addresses is also nice.

The web version (https://meet.jit.si/) is great. Can easily start a video chat in less than a minute and no need to download any browser plugins.
