The expression on people's faces says it all.
It captures moving subject motion then generates a fully animated 3D model as well as still subjects. The 3D models contain volumetric 3D mesh, movement, and real textures (Skin, Facial Expressions, Clothing), hence we can literally put your DoubleMe into virtual, augmented & mixed reality experiences.
It has been developed to tackle what is known as uncanny valley. Unreal object in VR can cause confusion and nausea. The 'realness' of this experience is a much needed thing for VR to explode.

yes you are right after seeing video everyone can easily understand the whole process as compare to others who did not understand English language well.
Vr is the future and the companies are building awesome and amazing devices to gives us ultimate experience of virtual reality, now this simple and easy to wear product can give you 3d experience while watching 2d movie, Isn't it amazing ?
It is, also recommend you watch the youtube video in my post where a fashion show was conducted using this tech leaving audience amazed. The practical uses of this tech are going to increase exponentially in the future.

Like you, one of my first thoughts when watching the video was, "the look on their faces!".
When they can overcome the 'uncanny valley' and make the goggles smaller, and less intrusive, VR will really take off. And when it does, it will fundamentally change the way we live.
In the meantime, AR should explode in popularity first - just look how popular Pokemon Go was. All we need is companies like this to start taking the tech seriously, and developing real-world uses which wow people.
It's so exciting that VR, blockchain and possibly AI may all mature at the same time. If AI doesn't kill us all, it'll be an amazing time to live (haha!).
Yeah, size of these VR goggles is also important. I think it will happen. Like crt tvs to flatscreens or those bulky brick mobiles to the sleek, powerful ones we have today. But i hope VR doesn't imply that fewer people travel, and step out of their homes to do things.
Didn't walk the town looking fot pikachu but have to admit, i waa excited when other talked about it.
