Let me show you a really cool invention, the transparent aluminum. Yes, you read well, this is a metal stuff, what is crystal clear like the glass, but made by aluminum, whats mean, you get an extreme durable material for windows or any glass-products.
Unfortunately, the unique features have relatively high price, so right now the main target in this business the space-research and military use-cases, but the technology already exist.
At time, it will arrive the normal life, and anyone can use it, because it will be cheaper.

interesting material discovery. Looking forward to see its implementations especially on eye glasses and mobile device screens. I hope it is more cheaper than producing glass but I have a doubt. Cause silicate is very common in nature. Good hunt!
Right now, this is definitely not cheaper as glass, but at time, it will be, as all the new inventions have decresing price at time :)

Hi @kriptonik you have found something really interesting. I can think of so many benefits for this compared to glass. If it is a metal it must have the same characteristics so the glass like aluminium shouldn't splinter then. This could become the new safety glass in the future when the price comes down. Military developments always bring technology to the fore and we are better of for what they find and develop.
You know, i cant say it, this is a see-thru metal, because in chemical level, this stuff its ceramic, but... actually this is a metal :D
How cool is that, right? Those crazy scientist in army, they have to do things like this, not the stupid weapons and ugly drones, who need weapons and drones at all? :D
