We had a bunch of back-to-back winter snowstorms that blacked-out entire neighborhoods. Wish I'd had this.
Pros:
If you know there will be a big storm coming that might take out power lines, you can bank power ahead of time.
Cons:
Unknowns - will it suck up a lot of electricity if you just keep it charged all the time?
