You cannot talk about privacy on the internet without talking about encryption. Simply having end to end encryption doesn't mean everything will be fine. WhatsApp vs Telegram is a great comparison for this. But having end to end encryption is at least going to make your private life harder to invade.

Encryption is badly needed for anyone who is surfing the Web because of the misuse of identity and information prevalent due to opportunistic fraudulent people. This is a wonderful tool to get information about services and websites that off good encryption tools for prospection.
However, I don't know why whatsapp is included in the list.
They do offer end to end encryption and except from Facebook and few governments, your chats are safe.. WhatsApp technically fits the description for Encrypted List.
I think encryption will become more necessary as our privacy becomes more of a commodity. Great Hunt!
